About LAN Party EH
What is a LAN Party?
A LAN Party is a local gathering of gamers for the purpose of enjoying multiplayer gaming to it's fullest. The acronym "LAN" is a computer term that stands for Local Area Network; a LAN Party literally boils down to a party of gamers with a local computer network. It's a great opportunity to satisfy your thirst for intense team-based gaming, to trade files at great speed, and to socialize with other gamers.
These events usually draw hordes of enthusiasts who love to talk about and play computer games, rant about computer hardware, show off fancy computer modifications, and more. If you are a newcomer, do not be discouraged, newbies are generally very welcome at these events! ... and besides, you'll be one of us soon enough anyway! ;D

A history of LAN Party EH
LAN Party EH was first conceived by Howard Ha as a LAN party listing website in late 2004. The focus was to serve the local Canadian LAN scene. As the site grew, Howard did not have the time to keep up with it, and the website was put on permanent hiatus in the summer of 2007.
Jumping forward to early 2008, a group of lanners from British Columbia decided to build a modern community website project; this project is what matured into LAN Party EH today. The project itself was spearheaded by Nathaniel Sabanski and James Charlton. The goal was to provide the facilities to enable the LAN community in British Columbia and across Canada to effectively connect, collaborate, promote, and host better events.
While the project was underway, and the search for a domain name came about, James inquired to Howard about suppling LANPartyEh.com for the project. He agreed. Howard is no longer involved with the LAN Party EH website itself, but is heavily involved in the local gaming community and runs the popular gaming website Neoseeker.
LAN Party EH was reborn in the summer of 2008 with an attractive new design, solid modern architecture, and a highly motivated community staff. The people behind LAN Party EH are looking forward to the future of the LAN scene across Canada.
