C-Toan is a casual LAN party based in Maple Ridge. We’ve been doing LAN parties for about 4 years now with an average of 2 per year. C-Toan attracts close to 100 gamers each event from all over the lower mainland.
C-Toan LAN was founded by Chris Wishart and Derek Noort (2 graduates of THSS) who had the idea to expand the popular Thomas Haney LAN to a bigger and better event.
In part, C-Toan LAN is also a fundraiser for THSS as a sponsor for the techlab.
Since the first official event back in January 2008, we’ve adopted new staff members and have gained quite a reputation amongst the gaming community in the lower mainland. Matt Froelich was around from the first event and handles most of the networking for our events. Phil Crawford was generous enough to help us out with venue and additional planning and coaching. At C-Toan 2, we were acquainted with the CapLAN crew who have been running LAN parties since the age of dinosaurs.
Most recently, we were fortunate to get an offer from a local shop owner at Haney Deli and Games to help us out with concession and add a new side to our LAN: MTG! (Magic the Gathering)
We are really happy with where we are at right now and we feel very fortunate for all the people we’ve met along the way.
