Digital Storm LAN is an annual video gaming tournament produced by KillaNet Technology Ltd., with the net proceeds going to fund the opening and operation of a digital media education centre in Aldergrove, BC. It is our hope that Digital Storm will grow into a large event for gamers, featuring not only the tournament play but also exhibits and seminars put on by individuals and corporations involved in the many aspects of the video game and animation industry. These events will be geared towards young people who are interested in pursuing careers in the new media industry, which follows KillaNet Technology’s mandate of opening doors into the industry for young people.
Digital Storm LAN is also a regional World Cyber Games qualifying tournament, as we believe that the opportunity to represent one’s region at the WCG Canada Nationals and country at the Grand Finals is an incredible opportunity for our gamers to meet and interact with gamers from around the world. After having personally attended the 2007 WCG Grand Finals in Seattle, we are more committed than ever in helping local gamers travel the road to the Grand Finals, which in 2008 will be held in Cologne, Germany.
